Because this is DEFINITELY the best use of my time right now.

So, one of the things I have most loved about being at Williams is the ability to have long ranty conversations about interesting things with all of you myriad wonderful people who've come into my life here.

Firstly, PLEASE LETS KEEP DOING THAT.

However, I recognize that once I'm on the other side of that scary wall that is graduation, I won't be able to just sit in Paresky and wait for someone to wander in so I can start going off about the latest thing that's occupying my brain--or, similarly, to hear what's been occupying yours.

So, I figured that this was the next best thing.

I'm going to try to post here whenever one of those things gets to itching in my brain--not so that I can have the last word, but so I can get all you guys to talk about it with me. Please, comment away-that's the point; not just if you agree with me but if especially if you disagree. I've had a great many terrific conversations this year in which I came in wrong, and one of you called me on it, and I left with my mind changed. That's a wonderful thing to be able to do.

If you've got something you'd like to post here, then that is terrific too--I'll put it up! If you have your own blog, and you've got something you've said there that's relevant, I'll link to it. (And send me those links anyway, because there are few things I like better than introducing two awesome people I know to eachother's awesomeness).

I'm going to probably be going on a lot about politics because, come on, you folks know me--I'm always on about politics. However, there will also be lots of random nerding out about movies, TV shows, books, and of course music (especially since musicofnote.blogspot seems to be taken by a blog with literally no posts in it), plus just me being odd, which I would hope you all expect by now.

So, onward to new ramblings, with hopefully at least a dash of coherence and a pinch of insight.

Also, thank you to the ever-kickass Annie for suggesting the name.

P.S. :  All the going on about Williams should in no way exclude all of you wonderful people I know who aren't Williams folks from all the things I said above--I'm just sort of in the grips of graduation terror right now, so my thoughts are naturally focused on collegiate nostalgia.

Nor should it discourage any  random internet denizens who have something constructive to say. Real discussion is always great. Just remember to treat people with respect--I have a banhammer and I'm not afraid to use it.

P.P.S: Nor does this mean that I'm not going to be posting at Everything Tasty--now that we're back up and running, I'll be posting again there in the next day or two.
